What is Charlotte's Foxhole, and why should you care?
Charlotte-Mecklenburg operates a solid waste disposal and recycling center in South Charlotte, just south of Ballantyne on 521 (Lancaster Hwy.) called the Foxhole. I can't explain the name, but it is a great place for those in South Charlotte to properly dispose of hazardous household waste and recylce old electronics.
This past Saturday I decided to take a ride to the Foxhole to dispose of several old cans of household paint. It had been several years since my last trip, and I found a highly efficient waste disposal and recycling facility during this weekend's visit. What I did not know is that the Foxhole will also take old electronics, such as radios, computers, and televisions, that no longer work and will properly recycle and dispose of the components of these items. The electronics In addition, they will also take large household items for disposal.
If you are like most folks, you have outdated electronics equipment that no longer works. Why not run these items down to the Foxhole and eliminate another needless addition to our landfills.
